Culture Dock is a free photo and video-sharing social media app for travellers and the culturally curious. It’s a two-tiered platform where locals (including those in the tourism and culture sectors) from countries, regions, cities and towns around the world share cultural content. The second tier is a tribe of travellers seeking rich cultural experiences engaging with local content while sharing their own cultural encounters on the apps twelve cultural channels. These include: Customs/Traditions; Geography/Landmarks; Holidays and Festivals; Beliefs/Attitudes; Sport/Leisure; Food/Drink; Language/Lingo; Literature/Music/Art; Transportation; Nature and Wildlife; Architecture/Design and ‘Unsure’ No matter where people live, no matter where they’re travelling to, they can learn, share and interact in a frenzy of cultural curiosity. Users can explore the world through our channels or filter by country to learn about the region they are in, or wish to travel to. Users may click the i for information utilizing the platform as a virtual tourism bureau where they can ask for further details. Content can be bookmarked to create a personal cultural guide for future reference and users can follow accounts of interest. With a direct messaging function, travellers can connect privately to meet or share interests. The Culture Dock app features and in-app camera and video camera for seamless uploads.
